Limit description text length
ASA 2’s included managed templates have an option to limit the per default visible product description length. After the configured length there will be a “Show more” link with which the user can display the whole description text. This is a very useful option in terms of layout, because some products may have very long texts which could break the page layout.
The following screenshot shows the option “Description length”. It can also be adjusted per shortcode option “description_length“.
You can see the description text limit in action in the following product box. Click the button “Show more” below the description text to display the complete text.
Limit number of features
There is also an option to limit the per default visible number of product features on ASA 2’s included managed templates. A “Show more” link will be appended after the configured number. This can be very helpful in terms of layout because some product have a very long feature list which could break the page layout.
You can see the feature number limit in action in the following product box. Click the button “Show more” below the features list to display the complete list.
